Design Category: Editorial Design

This page showcases two examples of editorial design created using Adobe InDesign. The first is a concept museum brochure for a Jean-Michel Basquiat exhibition, designed to highlight bold typography, layout, and visual storytelling inspired by the artist’s work. The second project features spreads from the 2025 arts and literary magazine, Signet, produced for Queens University of Charlotte. Together, these pieces demonstrate my ability to create cohesive editorial layouts that balance imagery, typography, and narrative across printed publications.

Boundless: Basquiat Brochure

Boundless is a gallery handout designed to introduce visitors to the energy and depth of Jean-Michel Basquiat’s work. Created for a self-curated exhibition, it features selected pieces, artist history, and interpretive text.

The brochure reflects Basquiat’s fusion of street art, expressionism, and social commentary through:

  • A high-contrast palette

  • Clean sans serif typefaces

  • Organic layouts that echo the boundless style

Playful front and back covers draw attention while keeping focus on the art, resulting in a bold, museum-ready piece that honors his distinctive voice.

Signet: 2025 Edition

A cohesive magazine design showcasing student art and writing at Queens University of Charlotte. With over 100 pages, typeface and layout consistency was key for success.

Featuring an asymmetrical cover incorporating student submissions and clean, unified layouts, my cover designs were selected by the Design and English departments for the official 2025 printed edition.

Layout Elements:

  • Sans Serif typeface for credits, TOC, and section headers

  • Serif typeface for student work: emphasizes the content

  • Genre Dividers: cover artwork featured in new format
