Illustration Nation

Design Category: Illustration and Poster Design

This page highlights a collection of illustrative poster designs that explore both creative expression and functional communication. The work ranges from posters created purely for aesthetic exploration to pieces designed to promote events, where illustration is paired with intentional typography and structured layouts. Across each design, there is a focus on how visual elements and type interact to create cohesive, engaging compositions that effectively capture attention and convey a message.

Boundless: Basquiat Brochure

Boundless is a gallery handout designed to introduce visitors to the energy and depth of Jean-Michel Basquiat’s work. Created for a self-curated exhibition, it features selected pieces, artist history, and interpretive text.

The brochure reflects Basquiat’s fusion of street art, expressionism, and social commentary through:

  • A high-contrast palette

  • Clean sans serif typefaces

  • Organic layouts that echo the boundless style

Playful front and back covers draw attention while keeping focus on the art, resulting in a bold, museum-ready piece that honors his distinctive voice.
